Directions to Santa Cruz and the UC Santa Cruz campus, from points north/south/east.

UCSC Campus Directions Symposium: Enter at the West Entrance of campus (off Empire Grade; past the Main entrance at Bay and High Sts). Continue on Heller Drive (past College 8 – Oakes, Porter College and Performing Arts). Turn right into the Core West parking structure (just before the Heller/McLauglin intersection).  After you park, proceed to the North Stairwell and walk across the street to the Baskin Engineering Building. The Symposium will be held at the Engineering 2 building, which is located behind Baskin Engineering. Directional "SRL/ISSDM" signs will be posted. CAMPUS MAP


Symposium Parking is  at the Core West Parking Structure, located in the Science Hill area of the campus, at the intersection of McLaughlin and Heller Drives.   directional "SRL/ISSDM"  signs will be posted along all campus roads to show the way.


Permits are required for parking (you will get a ticket if you don’t display one). 

If you requested a parking permit when you registered for the Symposium , you can pick up the permit at the Core West parking structure on the morning of the event (Tues, Oct 18: 7:30 - 10:30 am; Wed, Oct 19: 8 – 11 am).  Event parking attendants located at an upper level (keep driving until you see the attendants) will direct you to a parking spot and will give you a permit.  Be prepared to identify yourself to the attendant who will have a list of registered attendees.

If you requested a parking permit, but arrive late (the attendants leave the garage at 10:30 am on Tues, Oct 18; and at 11 am on Wed, Oct 19) you can pick up the permit at the Information Kiosk at the Campus Main Entrance.

If you registered after October 14 and / or did not request a permit, you can purchase a permit for $6 from the Core West parking attendants (morning of the event only) or from the Information Kiosk at the Campus Main Entrance anytime.
